A lot of progress the past couple of weeks. The upper glass doors were completed. Each of the muntins needed to be milled and glued in place to accept the glass. Won’t install the glass until the end when everything has finish and topcoat applied.
After completing the basic construction of all the parts, it’s time to take a look at a rough assembly of one of the cases. No hardware yet, but this is a good way to check that everything looks the way it’s supposed to look.
After some final sanding, the first coat of finish begins. This is milk paint that is specially mixed to match the decor of the dining room into which the cabinets will eventually go. There are several elements for each cabinet that need to be painted and topcoated before final assembly.
